KCACTF Region VII

This workshop explores physical and vocal tools that allow actors to approach rich language such as Shakespeare with an experiential, imaginative, and full-bodied command of the text. This is an interactive and physical workshop for actors that seeks to create a personal connection to sound and language by exploring: 1) the speech sounds that make up the text, 2) the actors’ use of their body and imagination in experiencing sound, 3) and the application of our experience to the text itself. Dress for light movement. No preparation is necessary, though actors may bring in a speech with heightened language to work on.
