What if I’m Not Funny and I Don’t Hate Myself?: A Workshop and Discussion on Fatness and Performance

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Why are fat women always shown as the funny, forever single, best friend? Why are fat Black women shown as the moral and/or spiritual advisers of white people? viewed as sassy but funny? This workshop takes an intersectional look at fatness, representation, and performance. We will interrogate how fatmisia functions, on a societal level and within our own lives, and how this translates to the stage.
