Stephen Alan Seder

Stephen is an educator and interdisciplinary theatre and media artist who works in the world of technical theatre and design, performance and somatic engagement, and storytelling. His work revolves around social justice, intersectional feminism, disability studies, and trauma. Stephen holds a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from Goddard College with a concentration in Performance Creation. He also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a specialization in Acting, and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from the University of Montana.
He is currently the technical director and visiting assistant professor of theatre for the University of Montana Western.
Previously, Stephen was a technical director and adjunct instructor for Carroll College. For six years, he performed with the Virginia City Players and functioned as their company stage manager and designer. He has stage managed for the Myrna Loy Center, Helena Theatre Company, and Grandstreet Theatre. Stephen has also designed and directed for the Blue Slipper Theatre in Livingston, MT, and served as a visiting Technical Director for the Montana State University Billings Drama Committee. He worked for the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport, NY and has served as a speech and debate coach for six years in the Helena Public School system.
Outside of theatre Stephen owns his own production company called
SederMedia LLC where he creates short films, corporate promotions, and other videography/photography services.
